MarkBox

Simple bubble sheets; advanced features

What is MarkBox?

MarkBox is a free, UW-developed alternative to tools like Scantron or Akindi, which offers a fully-online toolset for generating and processing multiple-choice bubble sheets.

MarkBox began its development several years ago to simplify the bubble-sheet exam marking process. The project began as a simple wrapper around the Open Source AMC Project, and evolved into a fully-fledged exam creation and processing suite!

Features

Online Exam Marking (Done Locally)

MarkBox offers all the conveniences of modern bubble sheet products, but data never leaves the campus. We host and develop MarkBox locally, so your data stays safely on-site.

Simple Scantron Replacement

In its simplest form, MarkBox offers a free, online solution to the classic Scantron paradigm -- all users need to do is have students mark answers on the pre-generated answer sheets, and have these sheets scanned after the exam.

Question/Answer Scrambling

Users who create their whole exam using MarkBox's built-in test creator (not currently available through Odyssey) can scramble their questions and/or answers, providing a unique answer key for every individual student.

This allows for a confidently copy-free test environment, while results are conveniently de-scrambled to match the master test!
