What is Safely?
Safely is a web-based lab safety checklist which creates periodic forms for faculty or staff to fill out
Why we made it
The Chemistry Department approached us with a request to move their paper-based lab safety workflow online. With hundreds of labs, each needing to complete 100+ question surveys on a monthly and termly basis, managing the process manually was becoming burdensome.
With Safely, administors can watch as surveys are completed on a regular basis -- and lab managers have a quick and convenient way to fill out their forms.
Features
Quick & Easy Checklists
Safely was designed to be used with a phone or tablet to be able to complete checklists while moving around the lab.
To speed up the process for users, the checklist is enabled with the following:
- Quick reminders for missed items
- Helpful tooltips for less detailed checklist items
- An "ignore section" button for large sections of questions which don't pertain to your lab
- The ability to re-use previous selections and notes for issues which have persisted across multiple periods
Optional Photo Uploads
Safely supports both comments, and the uploading of photos to a given checklist item, allowing for easy reporting of visually obvious issues.
Track Recurring issues
By using Safely administrators can have a birds-eye view on common or recurring issues throughout their data for specific areas or entire groups of labs
